Artist's Comments

Well I put a lot of work into this one. I'm going for a more sci-fi/fantasy look to my art now. I think it's probably what I've always been better at then being a "space artists" if you know what I mean. Hope you all enjoy it.

Very well executed, my friend. Another great illustration. Excellent attention to light in this one.

If my life was a movie I know I would have a great cast and crew. It's the plot I can't figure out.

That's great! I love how the ship's boosters look to make it as if it's flying out. Good job. :)

Brilliant.

Awesomely brilliant.

You know, I'm just out of words here. Everything seems to be so beautiful and colourful, composition being just right, everything so natural... Wow.

Especially I like the nebulae, I had to remind myself this is your work, not a photo by Hubble =) And again, the colours, they're just so natural, heh. Asteroids. Really nice detail there, light and shadow (as in the whole picture) are balanced damn well. And the ship! The ship whose motors I babbled about... NOW they're really looking good, lol. Looks really powerful engines, I suppose they consume a lot of fuel, though, hehe.

Just out of curiosity, how large in pixels is the original picture?

Thanks a lot man! I'm glad you like it and I think you can expect more of this kind of work from me...hopefully. I've been wanting to put ships in my work for a long time but mever really got to know any 3d modeling programs well enough to do it with the kind of quality that I wanted. Then I remembered that I have Learned enough PS skills that I can do them without the aid of a 3d program. :D It's all photoshop.

The original size I worked at is 5000x5000 pixels. At that res just the boosters fill my screen at 1152x864 desktop res. If I ever print it though I would probably do it at 33.3% to 50% of that.

And yes...the damn thing is a gas guzzler lol.
